Smartodo is built by Synthetic Insights LLC (“Synthetic Insights,” “we,” “us,” “our”). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email hello@syntheticinsights.net.

Information we collect and why

• Account/auth data (if any): Used to track purchases and subscription status.
• Sync storage details (WebDAV URL/credentials): Stored locally in secure storage and never sent to us or anyone else; used only to remember your sync settings.
• User task data and settings: Stored and synced using your provided WebDAV server. We do not host or access this data; it remains under your control.
• AI messages: Stored in your provided sync storage for chat history. We proxy messages to third-party AI services (e.g. OpenAI) for processing and do not store them on our servers.
• Usage/logs (errors only, no content): Crash reports and error logs to improve stability.
• Purchases via RevenueCat (transaction IDs, platform identifiers): To manage subscriptions and purchases.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

• Provide and maintain Smartodo features you request.
• Process subscriptions and verify entitlements.
• Sync your data using the storage you configure.
• Enable AI-powered features by sending prompts to selected AI APIs.
• Diagnose crashes and improve reliability.
• Respond to support requests and product feedback.

Where data lives

• Local device: WebDAV credentials and app settings are stored securely on your device.
• Your WebDAV storage: Task data, settings, and AI chat history are stored and synced solely through the WebDAV server you provide.
• Our servers: We do not store your tasks, settings, or AI content. We may temporarily proxy AI requests without retaining content.

Third parties

• AI providers (e.g., OpenAI): Process AI prompts and responses you send through Smartodo.
• RevenueCat: Manages subscriptions and purchase validation.
• Crash reporting/analytics (errors only): Receive crash reports to help us fix issues. No task content is included.

We do not sell your data. Third-party use is limited to providing the services listed above.

Security

• WebDAV credentials are stored using secure storage on your device.
• Data in transit uses encryption (HTTPS) where supported.
• AI requests are proxied with encryption; we do not retain message content.
• You control the security of your chosen WebDAV provider; please select a trusted host and use strong credentials.

Your choices

• You can update or remove your WebDAV settings in-app.
• You can delete your task data from your own WebDAV storage.
• You can opt out of AI features by not using them.
• If you have account data with us (for purchases), contact us to access or delete it.

Children

Smartodo is not directed to children under 13 and is intended for adults.

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, provide an in-app notice or prompt you to review the changes.
